The Feast

After every big book reading, we have to do a learning experience with the pupils. For example, reading about Life in a Shell, we brought them to Underwater world. This term, we kinda slack in our experiences. Too many of such really kill interests. However, the last book of the term, we read about The Feast. So you guessed it right....we organised feast with the pupils, in conjunction with the book we read.

Days before the feast, I was pissed mad with them. Either forgot about bringing things days after days, if not, some would forget to get things initialed(parents' signatures). Some don't even understand the Chapter on Time after I spent weeks of drilling and practicing.

Initially I planned Tues for the feast. But on Monday, I told them postphoned to Wednesday. On Tues where everyone of them made me so pissed mad. I said NO MORE FEAST tomorrow, still some selective hearing kids brought the food. One of my gals.. brought... Chocolate Fondue! My goodness. The way the pupils eat the marsh mellow and fruits, with chocolate dripping all over, I wanna die!

So in the end, we planned a feast on Thurs. The kids were really excited. For the fact we dun have to do work, but eat eat eat!

Getting ready. Look at the way they shifted the tables and chairs, plus sweeping the floor, you know they are really excited.

All ready!

So after getting all of them to place their food on the table, we got a spread of food!

  1. fried rice
  2. jellies
  3. curry puffs
  4. cakes
  5. cookies
  6. fried bee hoon
  7. sandwiches
  8. chocolate fondue
  9. drinks (rose syrup, coke, pepsi, juices, green tea, anything)
  10. fishballs
  11. donuts
  12. seaweed chicken
And many more!

All thanks to their parents, the feast was a success!

Crazily happy about the feast!

My gal brought fondue again. Her mother is juz so nice. Oh, this girl, her sisters are my age! My goodness. Her mother should be old enough to be my mother liao!

Talking about this mother, I really take my hat off her. She prepared the fruit, all cut nicely (and ALL very fresh!), put in tupperware containers, melted the chocolate, put nicely in a bag, with tissue, forks, plates and marsh mellow for the pupils too. Tell me which parent can be so nice liao!

I ended up like a maid, opening things for them when they cannot open, pouring drinks for them (I din wan anyone to dirty the classroom) and sitting near the fondue, making sure no one drip the chocolate on the floor. It was so tiring!

My colleagues said my kids are like me. I think so too. Becuz which kids so into photo taking? My class is really exceptional lah. They love photo taking just like me! haha...

Samuel enjoying the fondue. If I didn't scream at them regarding holding a plate with them when they eat, I think I will see 30 chocolatED uniforms!

The aftermath, messy and littered tables! 2 years back, my pupils were so much better. We had 20 times more food, they were able to clear up the place when I said so. This time, I became the maid, clearing up and nagging them while the boys, sat at the back, SOOooOoO MCP, waiting for girls to clear!

Oh, worst is, someone had to spill the drink. !@#$%^&*

I wanna scold bad words le!

One thing. =( no one in my class brought SUSHI (one of rach's gals' parent made herself). Hehe... I'm missing jap food.

On that note, some parents were really thoughtful (thinking for the children in class) and some parents, simply...bor chap!

For example, the girl who brought the fondue, obviously her mother was very thoughtful. Preparing plates, forks and even tissues. Another girl, she brought green tea, in container with ICE! How thoughtful rite!

One of my girls, she brought rose syrup(THE SYRUP) and empty cups. I wanna kill her. Tell me how do you drink from syrup only! Argh....in the end, I told them to pour the syrup into a cup, go to the water cooler and pour some water. You know what the gals did? They poured SO many cups, then lelong lelong their drinks to the rest who were oready too full even to walk. End up, I got so many cups of rose syrup! Sometimes they really qi si wo!

Well, I told them to TA the drinks. They really got no choice. Haha...

****Having a feast is really tiring****
